Use this Culpitt metallic modelling paste to create impressive sugar craft designs. This paste sets hard so is excellent for modelling and is very easy to work with by hand or using tools and equipment. Once you've modelled your chosen design, leave the modelling paste to set for at least 48 hours to ensure a strong bonding and lasting finish.
Preparing the paste: The cocoa butter in the this modelling paste needs to be warmed by kneading to bring it to a workable consistency. The best way to do this is to cut the paste into small pieces and knead each of them separately, as you knead the paste will go from hard to dry and crumbly and then to soft and malleable. Combine the small pieces when they are warm

Modelling

I did find this paste quite a challenge to soften and roll out. However, once I managed to get it a bit more malleable it was just the job.

Hi Jane, thanks so much for the feedback. This paste contains cocoa butter and therefore the cocoa butter warms as you knead it, so it takes a bit more work than a typical sugar modalling paste, but it does look great! Culpitt advise cutting the paste into small pieces, and kneading each piece until soft and pliable. They also say to keep the paste covered whilst using, especially when rolling out. Good luck!
