Made from hard wearing ABS plastic, smoothers are designed to give sugarpasted cakes a polished, smooth surface free of any imperfections. They can be used on the top and sides of many cake shapes and sizes including round and square.

- Roll out your marzipan/sugarpaste to the required size.
- Polish the paste with the smoother using a circular motion. This will remove any blemishes and marks.
- Carefully lay the paste over the cake, trimming any excess at the bottom with a palette knife.
- For best results use two smoothers. One to polish the sides of the cake and the other to hold it firmly in position.
- Perfect the bottom edge of the cake using the straight edge of the smoother.
- Next use the smoother in a circular motion to smooth the top of the cake.
- Complete the cake covering by polishing the top edges, taking the smoother from the sides up onto the top surface.
