Round cakes bases are baked individually in one layer, approx 2.5" deep, and are ready for you to split into 2 or 3 layers as you wish. Round cakes are baked in a tin of the size advertised - slight shrinkage may occur during baking.
We recommend that you order sponge cake bases to arrive one to two weeks before the celebration, then decorate them in the week leading up to the wedding or party. This ensures the cake is in prime condition when served, and ought to give plenty of time to enjoy the left-overs!
Sweet Success sponge cake bases all freeze very well if you do need to extend the shelf life. Why not keep a spare cake base in the freezer ready for those last minute requests!
Once decorated, the life will depend on the type of fillings and icings used.
