The idea for Cakes & Sugarcraft contributor Natasha Collins’ latest book came to her while she was teaching a cake-decorating class. She decided to produce ‘a guide for those plucky souls who have decided to make a homemade wedding cake’. Aimed, therefore, at novice cake decorators, this beautifully designed title contains plenty of information about baking techniques and equipment, as well as simple cheats and tricks for producing sweet decorations. The projects are divided into chapters based on the mood of the big day, including Romantic Beginnings and Putting on the Glitz. Each project then opens with an ‘at a glance’ page which rates the baking and decorating skills required to complete it, as well as providing information on timings, set up, portions, price and more.
